Annual Events
2012
The 2012 Grand Masters Program provides accomplished engravers and jewelers with an opportunity to boost their skills to world-class level. During July and August 2012, Alain Lovenberg and Alexander Sidorov will each teach an extraordinary two-week course as part of the 2012 Grand Masters Program. Lovenberg’s course will specialize on his incredible low relief engraving with gold background. Sidorov’s course will concentrate on creative pavé techniques executed in hard and soft metals. Such opportunities are rare and these courses are expected to sell out quickly.
2010
The 2010 Grand Masters are three members of Creative Art: Giacomo Fausti, Giovanni Steduto, and Ugo Talenti, all of Gardone Val Trompia, Italy. Their course will span two weeks and cover the world of fantasy engraving.
2009
The 2009 Grand Masters are Alexander Sidorov, a master stone setter, designer, and jeweler from Antwerp, Belgium, and Martin Strolz, a master engraver who works predominantly on fine firearms in Steyr, Austria. Mr. Sidorov’s stone setting course will span two weeks and Mr. Strolz’s engraving course is the customary five days.
2008
In the fall of 2008, accomplished engravers will have an extraordinary opportunity to study under two of the finest masters in the world: Alain Lovenberg and Philippe Grifnée of Belgium. These Master Engravers will instruct the Fourth Annual GRS Grand Masters Program in Emporia, Kansas.
2007
In the fall of 2007, accomplished engravers will have an extraordinary opportunity to study under two of the finest masters in the world: Winston Churchill of Vermont and Ken Hunt of England. These Master Engravers will instruct the Third Annual GRS Grand Masters Program in Emporia, Kansas.
2006
Grifnée and Creative Art each presented a 5-day engraving program focusing on the their own personal techniques and styles. Their work is extraordinarily rich and beautiful with style and grace resulting from generations of artistry born and refined in Belgium and Italy.
2005
In August 2005, some of the finest engravers gathered in Emporia, Kansas for an extraordinary event: the First Annual GRS Grand Masters Program featuring Winston Churchill and Ron Smith.
