The Origin of Creative Art

In 1987 Giacomo Fausti set up a small studio in his home along with another engraver, Ugo Talenti. They agreed to combine their talents and seek new outlets. Two years later, Talenti left the shop leaving a vacancy that was filled by engraver, Giovanni Steduto. Eventually, seeking out new avenues with original and demanding works engraver Valerio Peli joined Fausti and Steduto. Ugo Talenti also rejoined their ranks and in 1989 engraver Armando Piardi joined the group creating today’s Creative Art located in Inzino, Italy.

The purpose behind the establishment of Creative Art was to form a team that could offer customers complete, high-quality, handmade engravings with a relatively rapid turn-around. Creative Art was and is still capable of offering the most elaborate and modern types of custom works. They service a wide range of customers, from the most industrialized companies seeking hand-finished models, to pure artisans, collecting a few high-end pieces per year. Each member brings his own personal style, technical methods, and skills to the Creative Art team.

Giacomo Fausti

Giacomo Fausti began working with is brother Silvano and attended the Sarezzo School of Art, specializing in relief and chisel techniques. He worked for several years at the Engravers’ Boutique of Cesare Giovanelli where he was responsible, among other things, for roller dies. His meeting with Giulio Timpini, head engraver for Beretta, and Leo Campanelli, expert draftsman, was an invaluable experience. He is one of the founders of Creative Art and still prefers working with the chisel and creating relief work, in addition to various types of ornamental patterns and using the burin.

Giovanni Steduto

Giovanni Steduto began engraving at the age of 19 after attending the Sarezzo School of Art. He worked for several years at the Engravers’ Boutique of Cesare Giovanelli while also taking an engraving course taught by Giulio Timpini and a drawing course under the guidance of Campanelli. A drawing and painting buff, he also frequented a contemporary art painter’s studio. He prefers using the burin where he can fully express his talents and spontaneous drawing ideas. He also participated in some painting exhibitions in Valle and Brescia.

Ugo Talenti

Ugo Talenti began engraving with his brother Paolo for companies such as Perazzi and Luigi Franchi SpA. He attended the Engravers’ Boutique of Giovanelli for several years, developing various skills with Timpini and Campanelli. He prefers works using the burin but also likes the bit and hammer.
